DirectLink Online offers a tool which tests whether your technical environment meets the requisite system requirements.

Following are the minimum specifications you will need for running DirectLink Online.

Computer Requirements

To run DirectLink Online you will need an IBM compatible personal computer (PC) with Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000. and a Broadband or high-speed internet connection. Refer to the recommended internet connection speeds below.

System Requirements

For editing/bulkloading different size batches, the recommended system requirements are:

Up to 10,000 transactions Up to 50,000 transactions Up to 120,000 transactions
Pentium 800MHz 1.8Ghz 2.4Ghz
RAM 256 MB 256 MB 512 MB
Free Disk Space 200 MB 500 MB 1 GB
Internet Connection 256 Kbps 256 Kbps 512 Kbps
Minimum of 1024x768 screen resolution with 32 bit colour or higher.


Other software required:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

If you already have Internet Explorer but would like to check the version you can select ‘About Internet Explorer’ from your Help menu on your internet browser. This will show you the version number.

Sun Java Runtime (J2RE) version 5.0 update 4 or later.

You'll need Sun Java Runtime (J2RE) version 5.0 update 4 or later to run the application. If you don't have it, don't worry - it's free. Just follow this link to the Java site to download a copy.

If you already have Sun Java Runtime loaded but would like to check the version you will need to access the ‘Control Panel’ from your Start menu. In Windows XP from the Start menu select ‘Control Panel’. In older versions from your Start menu you will select ‘Settings’ then ‘Control Panel’. Once in the ‘Control Panel’ double click on the Java coffee cup icon. Choose ‘About’ and this will show you the version number. This may show as version 1.5.0_04 or higher.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 or later.

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the PDF versions. If you don't have it, don't worry - it's free. Just follow this link to the Adobe site to download a copy.

If you already have Adobe loaded but would like to check the version you can open a PDF file. Select ‘About’ from your Help menu. This will show you the version number.
