Only registered users can access the DirectLink Online system. Before you can use the banking services on this site you must be an authorised user of a registered customer of the Bank and agree to be bound by the Conditions of Use of this site and the DirectLink Online services. For information about protecting your password, the New Zealand Bankers' Association has produced a leaflet, 'Protecting your Cards, Pins & Passwords', which you can view here or pick up from any of our branches.

As with any normal banking transaction, the Bank will treat your information and transactions as strictly confidential. Once you log on to DirectLink Online, your session will be secured using a 128-bit encrypted connection (using Microsoft Server Gated Cryptography) between yourself and the Bank. All transactions and internet messages using National Bank DirectLink Online are transmitted in this encrypted environment, ensuring that the information is protected by a high level of security.

The browser that you use needs to support 128-bit data encryption, and we recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. If you currently use a different browser, you can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website.

Internet email is not a secure facility and should not be used to communicate with the Bank about your accounts. However, customers registered with National Bank Online Banking may use Secure Mail for this purpose.
